Hello! This PDF tutorial explains one of the ways in which you can “fake” 3D text in After Effects. It was mainly useful in the days before extrusion was possible in CS6 and the Cineware plugin in CC, but will still come in handy if you have to work on a machine without a supported GPU – say a laptop in the field – or if you just don’t have the time to craft something in Cineware. Check out the included video examples to see how well it works.
